Express Entry translations: what IRCC requires
Any document that isn't in English or French needs a translation. Get it wrong and the document may not count.
What to upload
- An English or French translation stamped by a certified translator
- A scan of the original document, or of the certified photocopy the translation was based on
- Translations of any stamps and seals that aren't in English or French
If no certified translator is available
The translation can come with an affidavit from the person who translated it, sworn before someone authorized to take affidavits in that country.
Who can't translate
You, your family members, and your representative or consultant can't do the translation. You and your family also can't take the affidavit.
Common questions
Can a family member translate my Express Entry documents?
